Alysha's Diaper Cake

I am finally getting around to sharing some pictures of the latest diaper cake I made. This turned out to be one of my faves, even though it was quite eclectic with colors and treasures.

My main colors were brown and pink, but I couldn't find a brown and pink cake topper that I really liked...

...so I went with this cutesie giraffe that melted my heart....playing the cutest ever rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star all the while slowly moving his fluffy head around in a circle.

The other little gems stuffed in were some handmades, (burpcloths, and of course the baby's very first ornament: a hot pink acorn ornie!)

and then other little pieces (like adorable owl bibs, washcloths, socks) that she just had to have according to my middle daughter who helped pick them out.

It was sooo much fun filling this up for Miss Alysha. We just LOVE this girl and her sister....

Needing Inspiration.....

The winter dullness has truely set in. I'm in need of some inspiration...a freshness, a new inspiring craft or project...the winter will be a long one without something to keep my brain and my hands busy.

I dug through some pictures of my favorite craft projects that I conquered in 2010, and it is slowly inspiring me, but I need some new creative thoughts and ideas.

So, what are you working on this winter?

Valentines

I had the pleasure of doing a swap with Sarah from All Roads Lead Home last week. I sent her some acorns and she sent me some of her new valentine dough bowl fillers. Look at these adorable little valentines that I received from her!

So sweet...my pictures don't do them justice!

She did such an awesome job on all of them...I have quite a few favorites!

She also had this adorable little heart pillow in her package! Thank you Sarah!

Here is the itty bitty rest of my valentine decor....

I also have these old ticking stuffed hearts...

Have a great weekend my friends, and stay warm! It is blistery here in Pa. Tonight it is supposed to be -10 degrees with the wind chill factor! YIKES!

New Pottery Salsa Squares!

Hi Friends! I've taken a few days off from blogging and now that the kids are back to school, I am slowly getting re-charged for more crafting and projects!

In the meantime, I wanted to show you all some new pottery pieces here from Indian Trail Pottery! We are calling them Single Salsa Squares!

Why that name? Well, they are like having your very own individual single salsa bowls, or dip bowls...whatever you prefer. They are quite cute, square, and perfect for holding just about anything! Salsa, dip, condiments, olives, any little notions that you need. I even put a half stick of butter in mine for our table to serve with warm bread....mmmmm!

These little beauties measure approximately 3 3/4" square and 1 1/4" high. My pictures may have them looking a little bit larger than what they are, but boy are they fun~!

Now, all of a sudden I have a craving for salsa and chips?! ;) Have a great week!

Thursday's Table: White, Wood, and Burlap

I'm a tweaker of certain things. I just can't let some areas of my house alone, other spots....well, it could be a year before the dust gets cleaned off. ;)

There is one piece in particular that I change almost daily....my most favorite piece; my antique harvest table. It is quite a unique piece, that is old, very long, and also narrow, plus how I aquired it is a sweet, sentimental story. So, for those of you that have asked recently about it....No, I didn't build it. BUT, later this winter/early spring, I DO plan on building a farm table....so stay tuned.

I love changing out the centerpiece for this table, and someday I'll share pics of all the different centerpieces it has held thus far.....but for now, I was needing some pretty white tulips, a big old white pitcher, and my favorite burlap runner.

There is something so refreshing about simplicity with textures, such as burlap, with wood, and white. Throw in some fresh simple flowers and it brightens up any room.

There is contentment in the simple things. :)

Wooly Wednesday

Well, Pennsylvania is finally getting some larger amounts of snow and it is BEAUTIFUL! So, with all the snow, it inspired me to share this with you today. Yes, I am still making these because winter will be here for awhile yet!

I even made some extra little faces for coasters, or whatever!

This cheery wool snowman mat sure does brighten up the day!

Happy Wooly Wednesday!
