Starting The Day Off Right!

Nothing like a yummy breakfast to start the day off right, (after thanking Jesus, of course). ;)

This morning I made some belgian waffles with fresh peaches and maple syrup. Can I tell ya that they are the bomb! Or as my southern belle friend would say, the bomb diggidy! :)
It sure feels like a treat when you top those warm, crispy waffles with some fresh, sweet, juicy peaches, and then warm maple syrup poured over top of it all!

Some oil, flour mix, water, and fresh eggs of course....

all turn into this yummy goodness:

Tomorrow, start your day off right....even if it's just with cold cereal! :)
Talk with you soon!

More Crafting....

Last week I finished up a baby shower present....

yep, it's a diaper cake! (Doesn't it look like WALL-E or E.T. though!) :)

I love making these, but they do require a LOT of time and work. The base of the cake takes forever and can be quite tedious, but I love filling it with all the little extras.

I made homemade burp cloths out of that oh-so soft baby chenille fabric on one side, and cute baby prints on the other side. I think they turned out pretty great! I just hope the recipient likes them!

The finished product! This one is for a girl...can ya tell?! ;)

Now, onto some other little projects....
I made 2 different sized blue ticking pillows. This material is so nice, it is already very tea stained and old looking although you can't tell from the pictures.
Not sure where these will end up yet?!

I also made another pennant from burlap that says WISH in blue sparklie letters, and it has silver glitter on all three sides with a fleur de lis ribbon.

Well, that is all I have to share for today....working on some other things, but they will take me awhile yet.....plus, I am still brainstorming on my bedroom re-do. Have a great weekend!

Fresh Cut Flowers!

I don't know about you all, but I just LOVE fresh cut flowers! Half the reason I grow so many different posies outside is for cutting and bringing them indoors. Nothing says hospitality, friendship, and love like flowers.

Enjoy your day today! XOXO, Tarrah

Vintage Pennants

Been doing some different kind of crafting here in the past few days. A different type of media, and for a little bit different type of decor. Don't get me wrong, it is still old and some still say primitive, but I think it's more vintage french country.
I love the look of rustic with white. A mix of brown woods with white, it just looks neat to me? So, I have been thinking for awhile about doing a room of my house in a little bit vintage with my antiques mixed in along with some softer colors. I will let you know when I am ready to start....right now, it's all being thought of in my head! ;)
So, now on to the craftin'.....here is where I am pulling some of my inspiration from: Vintage Style Pennants!

*This ribbon is a beautiful muted gold!

*This ribbon is a soft purple, almost like an eggplant color but it doesn't show up in the camera quite that way.

This one reads cottage, done in burlap! The letters are a very pretty blue sparklie!

I love the look of these being hung around vintage furniture or I think they would look so darling in a little girls' room. I have quite a few more being thought of up in my noodle, but they just haven't made it to the work table yet, maybe in the next few days! I am making these pennants to sell also, so if you are interested, give me a hollar!

And speaking of crafting, check out this new color of glaze that Bob just made. I think it got so neat and now we need to make lots more!

A Trip to St. Michaels, Md

This past weekend my family got to escape for a few days and went to St. Michaels, Maryland. It was a short, but nice trip. The weather wasn't the greatest for the main day that we were there. There was lots of rain, which was much needed, but not when we wanted to sit and watch the boats come in and dock.

The town is chock full of cute little homes and cottages like these

The view isn't bad either (but again, the weather wasn't cooperating)

The food is just so-so.... ;)

And NO, that is not a full pitcher of beer...it's soda!

Look at that beautiful blue crab!

Gracie was being taught by Nana Diane how to properly get the meat out of the crab, and Maddie wanted in on the picture! :)

And oh yes, this place wasn't cheap for us 7 to eat there....YIKES!

I found a few treasures:

This is my type of purse...an old canvas bag with leather belt straps. This came from a very cool vintage/french country shop in downtown St. Michaels.

A beautiful pewter piece picked up at a flea market for only a few $....YEAH!

And 2 round butter presses to add to my collection that we got a great deal on at the same flea market!
It was a great trip!
