Woolie Wednesday is Back!~ Spring Peeps

Well, I wouldn't miss a third Woolie Wednesday in a row! Sorry about that friends...I missed last week because I needed to quickly prepare for Easter after the open house, and until we were all cleaned up and done with that, I only had 2 days alone before the kids were home on break, and that meant all those Easter goodies needed to be purchased in that time!
Now, finally a wool project done and in hand...this weeks wool project is a little more cutsie and whimsical than my other normal projects, but I just thought it tied in perfectly with spring and our very spring like weather. With all the chirping birdies and since last weekend was pretty much PEEPS season, I made a little WOOLIE BIRDIE! :)
So, without further ado, here she is:

Doesn't she just make you smile?! :)
Now, how did I construct this you ask?...Simple! I just drew a small bird outline template on scratch paper, along with a little wing (that looks like a big tear drop). I then traced this shape onto my wool and cut out a very small triangle for the little birdie beak.

Now you want to attach your little wing, you can have your birdie facing whichever way you want. I just gave her a dab of glue and then blanket stitched it on. You also want to give her an eye, using a french knot. Next, I gave her a little stuffing in between the two layers(I like small, chubby birds)! :) And I used a little glue stick around the edges to pinch the ends shut.

Ok, blanket stitch her up and then attach the beak to the back of her...you can just give a little dab of glue or you can sew it on there too. And that's it!

Isn't she puurrrrrrrrrrrrrttyyyy?! ;)
Now, what do you do with her you ask? Lots of things...you can give her a little stick and put her in with your potted flowers...

....you can also use her as a very lovely pin.....

....and there is always the bowl filler if all else fails...

she sits in there quite perfectly....Now I need to go make more! :)
Hope you like today's Woolie Wednesday project!
