Sunshine Came Through My Window Today!

I'mmmmmmmmmmm gonna soak up the sun....I guess I have quite a few songs in mind for today! ;) It is finally sunny and feeling quite a bit warmer than in our recent days past....WHEW....a day like today makes everything seem better and brighter!
So, with the sun shining, it is allowing me to do things like this.....

and this...actually, no I did these when it was raining on Saturday! ;)

and here I didn't think I had any blooming yet, but there were a bunch greeting me this morning! AAAAHHHHHH, I am SO ready for flower season!

Open House Goodes

The UPS man arrived yesterday with a box that I have been waiting for......I got it half way opened and instantly my house smelled absolutely delish! I ordered cookie tarts from A Primitive Glow, and let me tell you....They are FANTASTIC! I ordered quite a bit more tarts, but here is a picture of just a few.....

.....banana nut bread, blueberry cobbler, farmhouse kitchen, and my kids personal fav: birthday cake! :)

I am stocking up on a nice supply of tarts to sell at my open house to go with these.....

I also found these absolutely primitive hand made dough bowls...I have 6 of these ranging in sizes, and I know of quite a few gals who are just waiting to get their hands on these at the open house!

These are so versatile.....do they look prim or what? But yet, I've seen pieces very similar to this used in the Pottery Barn magazine. Just a great big hand carved wooden bowl....so neat!


Ok, this is just a sampling....will share lots more goodies next week that will be available at our open house. If you are in our area our open house is Friday March 26th through March 28th! Would love to meet you in person!

More Robin's Egg Pottery with a Yarn Bowl, and Goin' Wool Crazy!

Here is some beautiful pottery that is fresh out of the kiln....we have some big robin's egg bowls, and we also have the green with blue speckled spoon rest and sponge holder. This batch got just perfect! ;)


Now these little cuties are yarn bowls! It is to keep your ball of yarn in perfect peace and order instead of rolling all around on the floor and off the table while you are working with it! :) It's for all you knitters and crocheters out there!


Sorry, I didn't have a regular ball of yarn, I only had that crazy dark scarf material, so it is a little hard to view.


Now, onto some other things.....yesterday I took another crazy road trip with Teresa, and we happened upon some cute little shops in Maryland. One was Pins and Needles, which was a very nice and greatly stocked quilt shop. Very full of fabrics amongst other things. I was good and just picked up this cuttle little bundle of colors of perle cotton #8 thread to start yet another project....the Wool Crazy Sew Along.

This whole thing came into being because of a really neat instruction book written by JoAnn Mullaly. So take a peek at some of the pages in her book....so inspiring and such cute ideas for the quilt!




....and then check out the blog which is coordinated by Brenda. It is just members posting their questions and answers and giving you lots and lots of eye candy on how each one is making theirs look... I hope to start this wonderful journey sometime next month, AFTER the open house, so as I do work on it, I will share my ups and downs and my progress through it all. It really looks neat and I am all into more wool wall art! ;)

Woolie Wednesday~ Mug Mats

Today, I have a couple of things to share with you....the first one being todays wool project. This is as easy as a stitch to whip up, with just a few pieces of different colored wool felt you can have some nice little mug mats (or coasters) for your beverages to rest on.


I used 4", 3", and 2" circles and here you go:

I am working on two different sets....thought I would show you what they both looked like.


Now, onto my lovely little "wool" trip with those two crazy girls....Teresa and Patti. We went to this cute little wool shop last Thursday that carries wool pieces, patterns for rug hooking and punch needle, supplies for rug hooking, and frames for rug hooking. It is an absolute rug hookers dream! They have the friendliest people that come out to hang out and hook every Thursday. You get to see all these wonderful pieces that are in progress, plus some beautiful finished creations hanging on the wall. I was just so in awe and so inspired, that now I really need to get on to a large rug hooking!!! I have done a couple very small pieces, but now I feel the need to get a large one going! :0)
And the assortment of wool is just great! I just loved looking at it all, feeling it, and I just had a good ole' time in at Wool Works!

A Day of Goodies

Well yesterday was quite a day! I had an outing with fellow bloggers Teresa and Patti. It was quite a day of entertainment, and it was so much fun that we plan on doing it again next week to a store where I need to pick up some items for my open house.
We went to a wool shop that was just awesome and very inspiring, but more on that next Wednesday! ;)
We also stopped at Hobby Lobby, where I was able to pick up some items that I needed to do more crafting. I also got that cute little cloche in the picture above and here....

Thought I would make a very simple spring table arrangement!

Something else that I got that I was so excited for the mailman to bring was my TOBACCO CLOTH from Family Heirloom Weavers! How excited I was! Yahooooo!! :)

It is so light and has a great feel to it. I am not sure where I am going to use it all yet...I have quite a bit of it, but the first thing on the list is a small prim curtain to cover my pantry shelves in the pantry. Will share that with you when its finsihed.


Ok, well I hope you all have a great weekend, I hear it is supposed to be nice and warmer in our part of the country! Another reason for a YYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ;)

More Blue Pottery

We have some great new pottery fresh out of the kiln, and just in time for spring. This color is named "Robin's Egg", because of its green/blue color and brown speckle all over. It is one of our most popular, but it is also a very tricky glaze to aquire....lots and lots of trial and error on this one! ;) Take a peek!



The sun was actually shining a little bit and it made my house bright, making my pictures a little bright too!

Some of this will be making its way to our two Pattis, (BRICKHOUSE CRAFT SHOP, and In Grandma's Attic in Lancaster) and some of this will stay here getting ready to sell at our Spring Open House!

Woolie Wednesday~ Star of David

Hi friends! Here we are at Wednesday already! Somehow or another Wednesday always sneaks up on me too fast! I always try and get my wool project ready by Monday (at the latest Tuesday), but I procrastinated this week and didn't get the small project done in time this week. So,here is a large penny rug that I made about a year ago or so? I know some of you have seen this before, but for my new followers here it is:

I have it hanging in my hallway and it fits in that space just perfectly! (I couldn't take a picture of it straight on because of it being in the hallway, so I had to take it from an angle!) :)

My friend Amy came up with this pattern and not being Jewish, I still really liked the Star of David pattern.
